BB-8 Hat Free Crochet Pattern
BB-8 Hat Free Crochet Pattern
Roll up this winter with this feisty droid.
I’ve been a fan of Star Wars my whole life. All thanks to my Dad who has taught me the way in all things Nerdy. I had the lunch box, the toys and best of all the original movies. I fell in love with Han Solo and the love has never died.My husband, who is ever so slightly older than me, also grew up with Star Wars. He had the action figures and played all the video games inspired my the franchise.
In the 90s, I had a daughter and a new trilogy that kept the fire burning. My daughter was bitten by the Star Wars bug. She even got in trouble to sticking the Darth Maul action figure lightsaber in the VCR and killing the VHS tape of Beauty and the Beast. Now I’m really dating myself.
By the time my son was 9, Disney bought Star Wars and a new trilogy was on the horizon. The anticipation in my family was beyond control.
We all sat together and watched the first trailer the day it was released. Of course BB-8 was immediately on my radar. A new droid was very exciting, so I did the one thing I do the most. I crocheted one into a hat. I starting studying every picture I could find of this little guy and starting working out my pattern. I’d make a hat, hate it, rip it out and make it again.
So this was my first finished BB-8 Hat. He was adorable and both my kids wanted one for the winter. So their wish was granted.
I’m so excited to now share this pattern with you and I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.
